Back'o'bourke easter festival

While in Bourke for the Easter Sunday races with the Back'O'Bourke Picnic Race Club why not spend some time and attend some of the other activities happening over the Easter weekend. The Back'O'Bourke Easter Festival starts Good Friday with the ST Ignatius Colour Run, then relax in the evening amongst the gardens at the Bourke Exhibition Centre and enjoy the live music with the Back'O'Bourke Billabong Sessions. Food and nonalcoholic drinks will be available.  BYO drinks.

Easter Saturday starts with the parkrun for a quick 5km walk or run, then get ready for the Bourke Markets where the Bourke Historic Vehicles will be on Display. The Wool Bale Rolling Competition is always a great event and this year they have added a swag throwing contest for the juniors. The afternoon includes the local boys Rugby Union match where you then continue with the Back'O'Bourke Race Club Calcutta being held at the Bourke Bowling Club, followed by music at our sponsors, the Bourke Bowling Club or the Port of Bourke. 

Easter Sunday kicks off with an Easter Egg Hunt at the Bourke Exhibition Centre followed by the Back'O'Bourke Picnic Races with after race entertainment! 

Monday continues with the local businesses that are open all weekend, so if you miss out on one of these then be sure to visit them on Monday. These include visiting the Back'O'Bourke Gallery and catch up with Bourke's renowned artist Jenny Greentree, have a tour at Dunlop Station, watch the impressive Crossley Engine at the Wharf Precinct, relax on the Jandra Paddleboat Cruise after checking out the Back O Bourke Information & Exhibition Centre display followed by a great coffee from the cafe,  and purchasing your Jandra ticket while there. You can attend the Easter Sunday Service at the Holy Innocents Anglican Church, Holy Spirit Catholic Church or the Full Gospel Fellowship. 

A full weekend is available and we encourage you to spend the weekend. As Henry Lawson stated, "if you know Bourke, you know Australia", and Easter weekend we have the town on display!
